Here's why you should get a degree
There are many benefits to be derived from attaining a Masters degree. Research has shown that holders of a post graduate degree tend to earn more than both persons with only high school certification as well as those with an undergraduate degree. In fact a study done by the US Census Bureau showed that persons with a post graduate degree earns an average of 52 percent more than someone who has no degree, and 16 percent more than someone with undergraduate qualifications over the course of a lifetime (The Big Payoff: Educational Attainment and Synthetic Estimates of Work-Life Earnings)
In addition to the obvious financial benefits of earning a degree, there are also non monetary benefits to degree holders. Degree holders tend to hold higher quality jobs leading to a career rather than less fulfilling positions. The children of degree holders also benefit from their parents' academic achievement from greater parental involvement in their education. Overall graduates, tend to be a source of innovation and contribute to economic growth.
